Anish Kapoor's space-exploding sculptures and the work in progress "Shooting into the Corner" developed especially for the MAK - made from wax reminiscent of skinless flesh that is thrown into the world by a machine - are at the center of the MAK exhibition of the same name. Following the artist's idea, his objects are created from the hidden, take on matter and playfully turn to the viewer's perception: "What you see is not what you see. It is never what you see. It never was, what you see."
Published for the opening of the exhibition of the same name (January 21st - April 19th, 2009) at the MAK.
With contributions from Bettina M. Busse, Peter Noever, Michael Stavaric.
