The publication presents the extensive holdings of the MAK library and art print collection in the field of commercial graphics from the 18th century to the present. This ephemera includes graphic works such as stationery and colored paper, book covers, invitations, admission tickets and labels, bookplates, greeting cards, bookmarks and menu cards, advertising stamps, playing cards, dance orders and place cards as well as business cards and advertising material. Despite their short lifespan, these prints are often of the highest design and technical quality. They reflect artistic developments as well as social rites, personal and commercial forms of representation and advertising strategies.
