Motive:
Adolf Karpellus: Fritzelak. Nejlepsi nater na podlahy, around 1905
Adolf Karpellus was one of the busiest graphic artists in Austria around 1900. The poster for the company “Fritzelacke” around 1900, which stands out for its narrative humor, is still used by the company in variations today. The poster with the unfortunate boy who fell was so well known that it became part of Viennese colloquialism as the phrase “He made Fritzelack.”
