Elke Krystufek's work is complex, contradictory, sometimes shocking, forcing the viewer to confront him (if he doesn't turn away from the start), but it is always full of richness and immediate intensity. Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video and again and again text lie on top of each other, next to each other, influence each other and remain intangible for precise classification. This complexity and intensity is ultimately also an expression of the power and liveliness of the artist and her intensive work for the exhibition LIQUID LOGIC. The Height of Knowledge and the Speed of Thought shown here for the first time. A suposition in which the artist deals, among other things, with topics such as religion and self-sacrifice, survival and the possibility of disappearance, collection strategies and her position as a contemporary artist in relation to the museum.
Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name (December 6, 2006–April 1, 2007) at the MAK.
Texts by Tulga Beyerle, Max Borka, Philippe Van Cauteren, Silvia Eiblmayr, Sebastian Hackenschmidt, Elisabeth Schmuttermeier, Johannes Wieninger as well as interviews by the artist with Heidemarie Caltik, Sebastian Hackenschmidt, Peter Noever, Kathrin Pokorny-Nagel.
